We love this course so much we extended our trip by another day to play it again. The course was in magnificent shape, the design was awe inspiring, the play was stunning. We're definitely headed back to play again.

This course really is amazing. The grounds crew do a fantastic job of keeping this course in shape, not an easy task! Views are incredible, you really feel like it's just you and the course, there are very few holes that run alongside each other.

Now, a lot of people will tell you that it's very difficult and that it's just not a fair course. If you USE THE GPS when you don't know where to go, you'll be fine. Yes, there is some target golf and fairways are narrow but I absolutely adore this challenge of a course.

Staff is all very friendly, the carts with GPS are great and have ball/club cleaners right there on your cart! Bottom line is if you want to go somewhere to flatter your golf, there is always Hillview!

We (Ross Marrington and I )decieded to play Shadow to get probably our last kick at a game in for 2010. The weather was perfect, we turfed the jackets after a couple of holes. For November 7th, what a treat and the course was in very good shape, just a few wet spots and 1 temp green, #18. It was a fun day and we actually played 23 holes. Started on 14 as it was a shotgun start, but by the time we finished, we still had sun shine so we played on. What a great fall day of golf. Regards, Dave Kandola.

This is simply the best course in the Okanagan, great memorable design layout, greens are excellent. Some of the most scenic views in the Okanagan.
Course is playable for all levels including the ladies in our group. Club restaurant was excellent, an overall great golf experience surpassing Predator, Gallaghers and the Rise.

What a great course ! No wonder it is one of the top new courses in the country. Lots of elevation change from tee to fairway and fairway to green, but when you are in the fairway, at least you have a reasonable flat lie ( unlike the Rise in vernon ). Our group had a big spread from low to high index, but this place is playable for all levels. All the staff were great. This place is a Do Not Miss if you are in the Kelowna area. Only negative is the lack of a drving range, just the warm up nets.

This course is spectacular.Great views and interesting holes with a lot of elevation change.Carts only but all holes play mostly down hill.I have played a lot of courses in the Kootenays and the Okanagan and this must be one of the very best.If you like Greywolf you will really enjoy the ridge, same architect. The accommodation in the lodge and the restaurant is five star.

Played on 2010-05-28 @ SHANNON LAKE GOLF CLUB (Kelowna) located in Westbank, BC, Canada

Played Friday afternoon with my sister Jane (up for a visit from the coast) The weather was spectacular, rain stopped 10 minutes before we started, course is in great shape, and greens very very good. Played well again with a 76, another game best for me at Shannon. Hole 17 must be one of the prettiest holes in the valley. Shannon Lake hugging the right side from tee-box to green. Watch for turtles in the ponds. Hole 18 typically can play hard for me, but not this day. Good tee-shot which left me in the middle of the fairway, about 175 yards up hill to a blue flag, a debated on club selection, choose my 5 iron. It felt good, at first i though it could be short and catch the darn bunker front. Nope - hit the green and as i approached, a gem, just 16" from the pin, birdie finish. Yeah! It was fun to get a couple of games in with my sister as i do not see her too often, she enjoy the week, the wine tours too :)

We played Tower Ranch on the Monday of the May long weekend. It was with out a doubt the nicest track we played while we were in the Okanagan. (including the Rise) The elevation changes and the views make this course a "must" play. It really has it all challenging par 3s to wide open par 5s with a canyon to carry. If you are in the neighbourhood i would play here for sure.

I played in the Steak or Beans Event this past May long weekend. BCgolfguide.com organized the group for their trip which included Black Mountain and staying at the Coast Capri - 35 guys in all. They needed another person to create even teams, hence i joined in for a very memorable weekend.

What this group does annually is play their first round (Blk Mnt) in order to create 18 teams of 2, White and Black. For Sunday's game the crew had a lot of fun. Buffett Breakfast served up compliments of Jeff and breakfast crew. T-time at 11:40am - Each 4-some has a white and black team. Stroke play and teams determined from like handicaps from Saturdays game. A hole is either won by a team for 2 points, or halved and each team gets 1 point. After the 9 teams come in, total points are tallyed and for 2010, Black won! Well i was on the white team with a career best score of 75.

Losers ate beans, winners had steak back at the Coast Capri. Did i mention winners dine on fine chinaware, while losers get paper cups, plastic spoons, newspaper table setting and dead flower arrangement. It was a blast.

The group welcomed me into the clan of "Slice Boys". Re: Photo attached - bar setup at the 18th greenside as the groups came in. Hats off to the staff at both Black Mountain (thanks Brice, Eric and Tony) and Sunset Ranch (Bruce, Scott, and Jeff) for serving up terrific food and having exceptionally friendly staff to make the experience most memorable for all. Watch for more photos coming from this group.

played here on Saturday around 4:00pm, plenty of time to finish. Course in good shape although greens where sanded which made for some bumpy putts. Played with Dave Kandola, and two members Brian Shepard and Gord McGarva. Had a great time with a competitive game between myself and Gord and Dave and Brian.
