    NORTH

Golden Eagle North is a good, fun golf course. The water there is disgusting, and needs replacing. The fairways, bunkers, and rough are all well maintained. There are a few poorly designed holes, featuring lateral water hazards forcing you to use irons on a par 5, and a hole with the cart path right behind the pool tablish green, in front of bull rushes and a pond. But all in all, the North Course is generally regarded as better then the South Course, because it is a par 72, not 70, and features more pituresque views of the golden ears and Thompson mountains. 7.9/10

    SOUTH

I, personally, like the South Course better then the North Course. The South Course let's you decide how to play it, because there are many options on how to play your tee shot, on almost every hole. A true risk-reward test of golf. I, a 14 year old managed to drive a 270 yard par 4 there. This course really makes you feel better then you actually are, and that's why I love it. The hardest part of the course is the Par 5 4th. The hole is a short par 5, but plays longer as it is uphill. There is a cliff surrounding the green, which makes it beautiful. The green is reminiscent of the 18th at St. Andrews golf links in Scotland. I, when I played, 5 putted the green. My ball rolled down 3 times, I chipped it once, then putted it twice more. The landscape and beauty is unsurpassed here, and you are 101% likely to see a great blue herron, or deer here. Beautiful.

Well kept course with some interesting bunkers for a public track. I first played this course when it was a 9 hole around 1972. It has seen much improvement from those days. Not super challenging so an enjoyable course for those of us that can only play weekends and holidays or don't hit the ball as far as we used to. I see that there was a disenting posting from a C. Foulds. In reply all I can say is that Meadowlands is a goat track. It's a great layout but the current ownership is lacking any kind of golf knowledge and it shows. There is no real difference between the fairway and the rough and the greens, if you can call them that, if they aren't full of moss are so long it's like putting on a fairway. Too bad because it is a nice layout. Owners that were interested in the game of golf would be a great thing for that course. Fraser Glen is a far better bang for your buck. And it won't ruin your putting stroke like Meadowlands. Cheers.

What a course to behold. This course must rank up there with some of the toughest courses in Canada, possibly North America. A shot which does not find the fairway, on most holes, is unfindable. Trees protect steep mountain drop-offs. The practice green is in the shade, giving the rest of the greens a unique reading challenge. The first hole, is a monsterous par 4, perhaps the most intimidating on the course. It must play at about 450 yards, with a left dogleg, and straight uphill. The fairway begins at about 150, and with a 220 yard drive, your second shot is either a blind shot at the green, or a layup. That is, if you can find your ball after your drive. The green is huge, and is very ungilated. Any shots without spin are sure to hop over and into the wilderness behind, beside, and in front of the green. Par this hole, and I'd be glad to pay you for telling me just how you managed it. The second hole is a par 4, which features a totally blind tee shot straight down a hill. The hole must play in at about 225, downhill. The hole is driveable by the bravest of golfers, as the green is heavily protected by trees, bunkers, and a pond in behind. A long iron off the tee is required to hit the fairway, and the 2nd shot is merely a pitch onto the green, which is situated left of the fairway. The third is an uphill par 3, which features a sort of spotlight effect on the pin, caused by the trees. The hole plays at about 160-170 and requires a long iron or fairway wood off the tee, to a green which is in sort of a bowl. The 4th is a driveable hole for those who can hit it hard, and shape their shots. It is a heavy dogleg left with a poorly maintained fairway bunker, which I seem to hit every time. The hole plays approximately 280 yards, downhill. The 5th is a short, uphill par 3 that plays at about 130 yards. A nice 9 iron at the flag which is usually situated dead center of the green is required for birdie here. The 6th is a huge dogleg left downhill par 5 which is almost physically impossible to drive in two shots. The drive must be shaped left, because of the dogleg, and the fairway provides ample room to really unleash your drive. The second shot allows you to see the little spec of red that must be the flag, and makes you realize you need to lay up. Play your second shot short of the pond that protects the green, and pitch on from there. The hole is approximately 570 yards in length. The 7th is one of my favourite holes on the course, and features a view of the clubhouse as you round the left dogleg on the par 4. Just your basic 350 yard par 4, left dogleg. There is a hazard, but it is not in play, really, as it is situated just 10 yards away from the tee. Play your second shot onto the green with a short iron or wedge and just try to two putt that green! The 8th requires some navigational skills, because you must first travel down a narrow, and dangerous gravel road to find the turn. If you have had a few beers, you may easily end up on the entrance road. The 8th hole is a daunting par 4 (or is it a 5?) that features an approximately 100 meter elevation change from tee to green, and requires an ignition of the golf ball off the tee to be sucessful. This is in my opinion, the most unfair hole on the course. If you play you will understand why. The 9th hole is a fun hole, if you hit a good drive. Here, it is possible for someone who averages 220 yards off the tee, to hit it 280-300. The hole is a monster, and the elevation change from tee to fairway surpasses that of the 8th tee too green. But, unfortunately, the 2nd shot requires a bomb, because the green is barely visible 150 yards away, 100 metres in the air.

All in all, a good course. You need a cart. The front 9, maybe you can walk, the back nine, well, they must be the most ungulated fairways in BC. Good luck shooting your handicap on this course, you will need it!

Sunshine woods is an excellent course to play. 9 holes is good for beginners. Play it anytime you're looking for a challenge but a little bit of an easier course.

This course has gone through some renovations in the past year, there are now new fences along some of the tee boxes and gates along residential buildings, and in general the tees and grounds have been improved, you are still likely to loose some balls in the water hazards, but the quirkiness of some of the holes should make up for it in enjoyment, all in all it is a nice, challenging course that is perfect for the less serious but still avid golfer

The best course I have ever had the pleasure to golf on. I found it tough for distance, not having walked it before.
Excellent playability, and shots that would be long gone on most courses were easily recovered.
If you golf, try this course your nex time in Campbell River. Fast greens, very fast. The greatest practice area that I have ever seen.

Played with a good friend of mine that lives in Ashcroft while on vacation. Best hidden jewel of a golf crse in the BC area. Enjoyed myself and wanted to come back a second time but weather was bad. Surely be a must stop whenever I go through Cache Creek again.

Great little 9 hole course, very inexpensive. There are some tough shots for all type of golfers. If you need to work on your short game some of the par threes are a great palce to do it. Water to shoot over, bunkers greenside. Also a driving range for practice. Great for middle level to novice golfers.

Beautiful yet deceiving course, greens are protected nicely by sand and water traps. Only nine hole course, suggest playing front nine from blues and if playing in group determine next tee off position (reds, whites, or blues) by choice from winner of each hole. Imagine a beautiful Saturday morning on a course with no waiting behind other golfers.
